I know that is an unpopular sentence for an astrology column.
A song playing immediately after you think about someone is not necessarily the universe sending a message. Seeing their name twice in one day does not automatically mean they are your destiny. A particular number appearing repeatedly does not necessarily mean you have received cosmic confirmation.
Sometimes you are simply looking for an answer because uncertainty is uncomfortable.
This is where astrology can become both incredibly useful and incredibly easy to misuse.
A chart gives us symbolism, patterns and timing. It does not turn every coincidence into divine communication. The astrologer’s job, in my view, is not to make everything mystical. It is to distinguish what actually has astrological significance from what the human mind is projecting onto the symbolism.
October 2026 is particularly interesting because several retrograde movements create exactly the kind of atmosphere in which people may start searching for confirmation.

Venus retrograde can bring old relationships, attractions, memories and unresolved questions back into awareness. Mercury retrograde can make us revisit conversations, decisions, plans and information.
But awareness is not instruction.
