The difficult transits of October to December 2026

โ€ข

The final quarter of 2026 is not uniformly difficult. But several retrogrades and major shifts make it a period of review, pressure and uncomfortable decisions.

October begins with Shukra (Venus) retrograde, followed by Budha (Mercury) retrograde later in the month. November brings the eventual direct motion of both planets, while December introduces the Rahu-Ketu sign change, Shani (Saturn) turning direct and Guru (Jupiter) turning retrograde.

The exact Rahu-Ketu date depends on whether true or mean nodes are used. Mean-node calculations place the shift on 6 December, while true-node calculations place it around 25 November.

The real difficult phase

The most concentrated pressure comes from late October into early November.

Venus retrograde is already asking questions about relationships, values and finances when Mercury turns retrograde on 24 October. The two retrogrades overlap, creating a period where people may say one thing, reconsider it, reopen an old conversation or change their position altogether.

This is not necessarily a breakup period.

It is a clarity problem.

And sometimes clarity arrives by making confusion impossible to ignore.

Short verdict

October: ๐Ÿ”ด Most volatile. Venus and Mercury retrograde make this a poor period for rushing major relationship, financial or communication decisions.

November: ๐ŸŸก Reality starts catching up. Mercury and Venus turn direct on 13 and 14 November, bringing greater clarity, although the consequences of October’s decisions may still need to be dealt with.

December: ๐ŸŸก Structural pressure. Rahu-Ketu change signs, Saturn turns direct and Jupiter turns retrograde. The focus shifts from confusion to what actually needs to change.

Bottom line

The difficult part of this quarter is not that everything falls apart.

It is that things that were being avoided become harder to avoid.

For an individual horoscope, none of these transits should be interpreted in isolation. The houses activated, natal planetary strength, Lagna, Moon, Nakshatra, Vimshottari Dasha and relevant Vargas determine whether a collective difficult transit becomes an actual personal difficulty.
